Fuck. I hate this shit. I don’t know what I could do to get faster. I don’t know here I could put in more time. Still, I’m getting spit out the back pretty quickly. I lined up for the 3/4 race. I knew I wouldn’t be a factor, but it was fun to hit the first corner sitting second behind Jared. He kept sprinting, and everyone sat behind me, so I let him go. No way I’m chasing Jared down. In some strange way, its nice to even be in the same field as Jared, considering he was one of the first pink-birchwood guys to get me into racing.

Then I got spit out the back and was shortly pulled from the course.
Fine. I came for the Master’s ¾ race and hour later anyways.
So, I spend time in the car, trying to stay warm. Race starts and I, again get the holeshot-which is fine for cyclocross, but wasted in a crit. I did continue to hold that spot thru the first lap, thus allowing me to claim the ninja-prime. I hung in a couple laps, but again, was spit out the back. I struggled to jump back onto the group of 10, but was defeated when they sprinted ahead. I held them in reaching distance for a lap or two, but then eventually lost touch. I felt so defeated. I continued to roll solo at tempo-pace for the rest of the time. I was eventually lapped at the bell and sprinted against myself for one last effort.
Again, I felt defeated.
But then I looked around that course and saw signs of my presence and how it affects the local scene. I was rolling in the super-sexy GSCA kits I designed. Jared was racing in the crossniac’s skinsuit. The girls were out in their Verve Racing kits. In my gift bag was a flyer I designed for MWCRM and there were StartBikeRacing biz cards on the reg. table.
I made all of that. In addition, there is a landing page for the GRE bike fest I did.

I may never win, or it might be a long time before I do, but my presence is impacting the scene in a very strong way.
Take that you faster-freaks…

Seriously, without FPA, the local cycling scene would be an ugly place. Thanks for coming out and racing!
Ah code pink memories...anyway, nice work as of late, your criterium legs will come around Im sure.
I think it was Peter MAxwell who once said, "Just ride your bike and have fun"
I'll bet there's a lot of CAT 1 dudes that can't do that bro.
