Finally got a good ride in. Headed east to Cottage Grove. Legs didnt care for it-but soul did.
Anyways, also got the first asshole-run-me-off the road event over with. Heres what happened. Returning home on Summit Ave, I spied an open-house sandwhich board in my bike lane. Kinda bugged me that some ass-realitor thought he needed to put his sign in the bike path, so I kicked it over as I rolled by.
Not one block further, just past Ramsey Hill, this volvo runs me off the road. He cuts me off and drive his car onto the curb, pinning me against the curb and his car. Instantly I know what this dude wants.
Some grey-haired realitor jumps out and starts to yell at me about how I need an attitude-adjustment.
Anyways, I'll get to the fun stuff: I told him I needed to take his picture (I whipped out my cellphone camera) and he decided to take mine as well.
I smiled and waved.
He asked me-not so politely-for my diver's license. I didnt have it and told him so-he didnt believe me. I told him he had no choice but to believe me.
About this time-several witnesses asked if everything was alright. They saw what happened and wanted to make sure I was ok.
what else, um.. I asked him if he was the realitor and owner of his company. He said yes. I made sure he knew that he was being super stupid putting his company on the line by running me off the road.
Well... anyways, he left in a huff with all the witnesses around. They offered their names. I didnt take 'em...why really.
He later followed me along Summit for several blocks, but said nothing. I waved him off as he drove away.
Well, the total bummer is that it added anger shit into the world.
I didnt have to kick his sign over, of course. but I kicked his sign over-he tried to run me over. Who overreacted?
well, got that annual event done with. hopefully that's done with till '09.

Good luck with that...
I would have kicked it over as well. Would it be acceptable to place a sign in the road if it wasn't a bike lane? Glad you came out if it ok.
please tell me you were wearing your birchwood kit.
oh yeah, tracy should expect a call from the dude.
-sorry tracy-
