After a nasty-nasty head cold, I’ve been back on the bike.
Fri
Rode to work. Nothing more exciting
Sat.
GP Sprint Ride with Superhero-Dykes. Great ride. I left just a tad early, on a high note… feeling good.
Sun.
BW coffee ride. Maybe 40 odd miles. Karl-The Hammer took us on a great new route though Bloomington. Tired Legs.
Mon.
Here's where it gets interesting… I should have turned back the minute the squirrel ran into my front tire. I didn’t go down, it just set the tone.
Since my next race is a little technical, I headed to the fairgrounds and practiced my high-speed turning. I managed to hit nearly even little rock possible, still didn’t go down, but the wheel got wobbly many times. Time to go home… I’m on my way and just about to cross University avenue, when the pick-up truck that just passed me decides to turn right.
I slam the brakes and am skidding into what might be the worst Memorial Day ever for me. He suddenly remembers that I’m there and skids too.
Too close to even flip him off.
Dudes on his cell phone, chatting it up, I’m hoping I didn’t pee my pants.
Time to go home. Spend time with the family.
