Durand Road Race

{PIC TO COME}

I didnt expect to race this one, but I'm so glad I did. Brought the bounce back in the legs.

Saturday was a wonderful day, warm temps, hot sun and 35mph wind gusts. And they were in your face. My race was for 50 miles.

I lined up in the 4/5's right behinid the guy I knew would win. He's on flanders and he is strong. So we (me and the three flanders dudes) rode out in the front for a good chunk of the first lap. I took most of the wind, but it was fun controlling the pace and the pack behind.

I was the bitchy one telling the few infront how to paceline in the wind and keep the "others" out of the way.

By the time we reached the second hill, my legs were cooked. I couldnt be happier for my effort, despite struggling around the next lap.

Little sunburn, little wind-burned, hungry but happy.

I'm in for Ken Woods. It is supposed to be a surprise party for my mother-in-law so I had to post on the blog that I wasn't coming. You better be there Saturday and Sunday.
